Mad Men
Mad Men is obviously an obsession of just about everyone’s at this point, and that does not exclude every fashion designer that’s worth their weight in salt these days. The show seems to have inspired a major shift in fashion for this season to the usual light and fluffy, maybe even rural, to a more sultry kind of lady. We are on board for that! I have always looked to the 60s for inspiration when it comes to my closet and it’s not hard to see why. The women from that time period pulled off sexy in a completely different way than any time since, with clean lines, bold prints, and definition that is missing from most other eras. Thick liner, and curves, boy don’t they just scream, “I’ve got this under control, now sit down, because I’ve made dinner.”
Makes a girl want to purr.
Everything about that time period seems to have an air of control layered over a distinct and ever present veracity that lays just beneath the surface. From the cars, to the architecture, to the women who graced the screen. So today I’m feeling Brigitte Bardot, Elizabeth Taylor, and all the Mad Men ladies, holding their heads up with classy sophistication that comes from knowing you run the household, and the men that live in it, and all the world for that matter. So pull out your thick black eyeliner, stilettos, and go get em ladies.
